YOU’RE NOT LAZY, YOU’RE JUST DISCONNECTED
Share
I speak to guys every day about their fitness.
They do the usual chuckle.
“I’m just lazy and like beer too much haha”.
But so am I.
I love to scroll instagram reels and sink pints too.
The issue isn’t the fact that you’re lazy.
It’s totally normal to behave the way you do.
The issue is that you over consume everything because you’re not connected to the mission.
I used to fall in and out of shape all of the time because I would stop being aligned with my mission.
I often rant on and on about how you shouldn’t make the end goal the priority.
It should be about the daily actions.
But if you’re so disconnected as to why the end goal is so important in the first place, you’re never going to commit.
Here’s the issue…
You get short term motivation from thinking about what your life could be like if you improved your behaviour.
It works for a short while, you lose a couple of lbs.
But eventually old habits fall back in place.
One illness, holiday or busy week at work knocks you off track.
Instead shift your mindset.
Stop looking towards the light.
Stop looking at what your life COULD be like if you improved.
Start looking the other way.
What’s the reality going to be like in the future if you continue to behave how you are now?
Think about the things that are likely to happen if you continue down this track.
What effect will it have on your health?
What effect will it have on your relationships?
What effect will it have on your career?
Keep asking yourself these questions until you find your “why”.
It will be tough and you may have several answers.
Ever put off having a hard conversation for way too long.
It sucks right?
The longer you put it off the harder it becomes…
You’re doing it with yourself.
There’s nothing wrong with you.
You just need clarity.
What’s your why?
You're putting off the one conversation that could change everything.
Not with your boss.
Not with your partner.
With yourself.
